Some friends asked me to help create a soap box racer for the [Portland Adult Soapbox Derby](http:www.soapboxracer.com). They would handle engineering the car if I would tackle the concept and crafting. It was a big project, but I’ve always wanted to do it, seeing as how the event is held in the park behind our house every year.
